Welcome to Dewey United Methodist Church where Jesus is Lord, People are Loved, and Everyone is Welcome. We hope you find your time spent here a blessing. Our community of faith is warm and loving, and we want you to feel comfortable and at liberty to call on us for anything you need. Feel free to browse through the various areas of our website and learn about our fellowship.
If you are considering relocating to our area, we would love to have you be our guest for Sunday School and worship.
At Dewey UMC, we know that just like trying on shoes or buying clothes, one size doesn't fit all. But, we would invite you to try us on for size. Here at Dewey UMC, we believe that from the moment you arrive, you'll find a caring congregation that will welcome you warmly. You'll experience preaching and teaching that is centered on the Word of God. We believe that we offer an outlet for truth filled and spirit moving praise and worship celebration. And, we offer ministries to meet the spiritual needs of every age and generation.
Christmas Eve Communion and Candlelight Worship
Won't you join us this Christmas Eve for a traditional Communion and Candlelight worship celebration where the table of the Lord is open to all, regardless of age or faith community affiliation.
Here at Dewey UMC, you'll find a warm setting that is family oriented, and child friendly. Come celebrate with us during our very first worship celebration in our newly renovated worship center.
We'll be singing lots of Christmas carols, and lighting candles as we celebrate with great joy the birth of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Pastor Dale's sermon that evening will be entitled "Christmas in Ninevah."
We would love to share this evening with you! Won't you join us on December 24th at 6:00 pm. Make the communion and candlelight celebration a family holiday tradition.
As we’ve been saying for quite some time now, Dewey UMC is sponsoring an adult mission trip this coming July. We’re going to the Four Corners Native American Ministry Center in Shiprock, New Mexico. We know that all of you cannot go with us. We also know that many of you would like to help support us in making our mission experience a successful life changing event. Over the next several months, we will be providing opportunities for you to financially support our mission team.
Noisy Buckets (On the First Sunday): Beginning in February, we will be scheduling a mission moment on the first Sunday of the month when we’ll tell you about our mission trip, including more about where we will be, and of course what we will be doing. As part of that event we will be “passing the bucket” – a metal coffee can – and we invite you to save up your loose change and drop that money in the bucket. We know it will be a little noisy, we hope it will be very noisy – that’s why we named it what we did.
Fund Raisers (On The Third Sunday): We will have baked potato bar with all the fixin’s on February 21st, a spaghetti dinner in March 20th, and in April we’ll have bake sale. Please save your appetite and join us in support of our mission effort on behalf of Dewey UMC. It’s a good time for fellowship too.
We have 10 members of our congregation who are committed to making this trip together, but we invite you to join us in prayer, and mutual financial support. Thanks ever so much.
Dewey united Methodist Church is pleased to announce the introduction of an electronic option for making regular offering’s. Contributions can now be debited automatically from your checking or savings account or processed using your credit or debit card. Our new electronic giving program offers convenience for you and much needed donation consistency for our congregation.
If you are currently giving on a weekly basis, you will no longer need to write out 52 checks a year or prepare 52 envelopes. And, when travel, illness or other circumstances prevent you from attending services, this program will allow your weekly offerings to continue on an uninterrupted basis.
The mission of Dewey UMC is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
